Gypsy Bees Company

Herbal Beeswax Health Products, Beeswax Candles, and Raw Honey

Welcome!

Gypsy Bees Company is a small, family run beekeeping company located in the Appalachian foothills of eastern Ohio, USA.  We produce honey from our own hives, and manufacture beeswax candles, lip balms, skin creams, and other fine health products from all-natural ingredients.

We sell right from this website, from the front door, back door, through the mail, at the North Market Farmer's Market in Ohio, USA (year-round), and to random strangers that we meet on the street.  We also attend a growing itinerary of craft shows and other events.  Look over our News and Events page for details as they become available.

If you're interested in wholesale, so are we!  Let us know on our Contact Us page.

We market our products through our own retail efforts, through wholesale to other small businesses, and in other ways.  We stand behind everything we sell--if it doesn't meet with your satisfaction, we will take it back and refund your money, or replace it with something that solves the problem, whatever it was, whichever you want.

Take a moment to look through our site.  We're finally getting ahead enough to add photography of what we do, so the site changes almost daily.  We're adding pages and links continually.

Thanks,

New Products!

Our staff of in-house product specialists spends a great deal of time researching new products or  techniques that we can offer (in between home-schooling and BB-gun practice.)  Coming soon:
  • Propolis tinctures-- HERE NOW! Propolis (also called "bee-glue") is a thick, sticky, resinous substance that the bees make from tree gums and saps that they gather and bring back to the hive.  They use this stuff to plug up cracks, seal small holes, cover up and eventually entomb things that are too big for them to carry out, and to liikt the size of their entrance holes.

Propolis has many uses in varnishes, sealers, and such (remember Stradivarius violins?), but its most important use has been as a topical antiseptic.  It kills bacteria, not only in the beehive, but wherever it is applied.  Many old-world home remedies call for propolis, but it's hard to get, expensive, and difficult to deliver.  Our FlowerChild Propolis Tinctures are made from natural propolis dissolved in pure alcohols, and can be taken internally or used as an extenal antiseptic.

  • Baby Powders--Babies have sensitive skin, and our FlowerChild Propolis and Arrowroot Baby Powder is just the thing to help keep that skin soft, dry, and protected from infections.  This is an external product that can also be used by much bigger babies in your family.  Try it to help heal foot rashes, wet, chapped skin, or many other household uses.

  • Natural Oatmeal and Honey Body Soaps-- HERE NOW! Bad soap is easy to get, and not really pleasant to use.  Even home-made soaps can be pretty rough.  One of our grandmothers used to make lye soap from hog fat and wood ashes, and her variety was so caustic that her hands bled when she did the dishes.  Thankfully, those days are over, and our Hand-Milled Beeswax and Honey Soaps are gentle, soothing, and effective in keeping you clean without harsh chemical reactions.  Expect Lavender, Lemon, and Peppermint varieties, with natural French Green Illite and protein-rich Bee Pollen.

  • Cosmic Orange  (HERE NOW!) and Natural Strawberry Lip Balms--We already do these from time to time, and are ready to ramp up production so that we can offer them consistently for sale.  They are very, very good, and offer a pleasing alternative to our already popular Rosy Mint Lip Balm.  We're also experimenting with packaging in stick-style tubes.  We'll know soon enough about that.

There have been visitors to our site since we put it up.
