The traditional skep used for centuries as a bee hive was made from braided ropes of rye straw, sewn together in a basket that the bees lived inside.  They look a little like Bald-Faced Hornet's nests, which is why Walt Disney Inc. always shows honeybees flying out of hornet's nests hanging in trees.

That aside, the Pure Beeswax Large Skep Hive is one of our best-burning candles.  In a calm location, one of these 3.5 ounce candle burned 19 hours for us. They're about 2 1/2 inches tall.
